my brother is visiting england for a number of reasons...
he was here 1989-1990 so he has friends in london we had a difficult loss of parent (father) earlier this year and he needed to get away from it for a little while to see his sister and nephew who are all now british citizens and finally ...for fun...notting hill carnival...
now getting to the subject
on wed 27 aug, 3 officers stopped him and his male trini-british friend for 'stop and search' they heard my brother's 'accent' and decided to check his legal status AFTER being shown his DP for trinidad and advice on how to get his passport from me his sister
if this was not enough he was arrested, fingerprinted, DNAed, and waited 5 hours to be let out by a phone call by immigration that they cannot legally hold hiom as there is NO EVIDENCE that he is NOT A VISITOR
now tell me...what u think i should do and if u have had any stories like these

girl i'm afraid to say aint a lot u could do. Police will always abuse their authority, i had the same thing with a family member at immigration when they were only comin for a holiday. Even had another family member spend 24 hours at Heathrow to be turned round and put back on the plane! A law abiding mother and wife with nothing on her record!
As long as he's back safe now I think you could just pray it dont happen again! or you could get him to practice his English accent for the next time? I'm JUST KIDDING!
Find out how the official complaints procedure works......
